As a professional consultant I worked on several large projects from 2005 till 2008.
Being a management consultant, the jobs always involved process optimalisation as well as implementing a management system and supporting the local managers to learn how to work with it.
As a consultant, I have worked in different industries, from Steel to Healthcare. The projects I was involved with were in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain and The Netherlands.
The consulting business is all about achieving set targets and getting the clients people to change their way of working. Very challenging indeed, as I was NOT asked to be an interim manager (e.g. the actual manager was still there and I had to work through him). For 12-15 weeks, I was part of the local team, and with them 40+ hours a week. It’s almost as good as being the manager…!
